Albany Symphony’s Compose Yourself
First United hosts the Albany’s Symphony’s Compose Yourself program. This is a series of Friday evening composition seminars with world-renowned composer, George Tsontakis. The final date of the semester is May 18. The workshop will be held from 6–7:30 pm in the Rose Room. On May 19, there will be a composition recital at 10 am. Fee: $25; Students and all First United members free. This program is not only for accomplished musicians! Anyone is encouraged to participate. Three of the area's finest trumpeters will join forces in a joint recital in the sanctuary. Composers include Britten, Dello Joio, Ewazen, Gabaye, Ibert, Mendez, Purcell, and Wilson. The concert is free with donations accepted.
