Faith Education: Adult, Children & Youth
First United is deeply committed to nourishing Christian faith throughout the entire life span. September through May, education classes for toddlers through adults are held after worship from 11:30 to 12:30. Several adult courses are offered each Sunday on topics that include Bible study, faith in daily life, and issues of concern in church and society.
Classes for children and youth meet at the same time as adult classes and include groupings from kindergarten age through grade 3 using Godly Play stories; grades 4 through 7 and senior highs. The curriculum links worship and education.
Intergenerational educational programs are periodically scheduled during the education hour. Study groups, retreats, and special evening series are periodically offered. We offer a biannual theologian in residence weekend, and exciting program of enrichment for the entire congregation. News about all educational offerings are listed in Sunday bulletins and church newsletters.
