These bottles are tossed on YOUR beach, discarded alongside YOUR road, left on YOUR street. Tell the State of New York: Put a deposit on them! Support the Bigger Better Bottle Bill Make a statement: Bring your bottles that should be recycled to First United Presbyterian Church. We’ll collect and display them to make a statement. Watch for us on the news! Stewards of God’s Creation is an environmental mission of FUPC. We believe that the Earth is a gift from God to humanity for our use and enjoyment, and that God intends us to love the Earth as we love God. We acknowledge that to live full and rewarding lives, we must take from the Earth the necessary elements for living: air, water, shelter, nourishment. We also see, hear, smell and touch the Earth’s beauty. We lament the abuse, direct and indirect, of the Earth for profit and excess. We strive to return the Earth to a state of harmony between humanity and all the flora and fauna, fish and fowl, mountains, valleys, plains and prairies, lakes, rivers and oceans. We work to change laws, policies, behavior and attitudes that are insensitive to environmental issues.
